Veggie Sloppy Joes


  • – Heat the vegetable oil in a pot.
  • – Add the onions and peppers and saute for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  • – Add the Gardein crumbles, brown sugar and steak seasoning and cook for 2-3 minutes longer. Deglaze the pan with the vinegar and soy sauce, making sure to scrape all of the bits off the bottom of the pan.
  • – Add the tomato sauce and the tomato paste and mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce the flame and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • – Plate a cup of the sloppy joe mix on each roll to serve.


  • 1 package beefless ground
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
  • 4 teaspoons vegan light brown sugar
  • 100g spanish onion, small diced
  • 50g red bell pepper, small diced
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 200g tomato sauce
  • 4 teaspoons tomato paste
  • 4 potato rolls
